A one mile circular walk through Braidburn Valley Park, a steep grassy valley cut in two by the Braid Burn which flows north from the Pentland Hills to the Firth of Forth.
The Park covers 11 hectares making it the fourth biggest Community Park in Edinburgh. In 2007, it was awarded Scotland’s first Green Flag for excellence in parks.

The Park is located approximately one mile south of Morningside Junction, just off the A702 (at Comiston Road/Pentland Terrace). It is well-served by public transport, and on-street parking is available adjacent to the Park. Lothian Bus services 11 and 15, run along Comiston Road/Pentland Terrace; Services 5 and 16 run along Greenbank Crescent. For timetables see www.lothianbuses.com.

Walk Sections

Start to Bridge
Start to Bridge

Start point: 55.9193 lat, -3.2132 long
End point: 55.9127 lat, -3.2165 long

The walk starts at the gate to the park on the junction of Comiston Road and Pentland Terrace. Head down into the park and head left over a small bridge. Continue along this side of the Braid Burn for half a mile partly on grass and partly on walkway. If it has been wet you can continue on the right side of the burn for longer heading over a later crossing. This ensures you stay on the path for the whole walk. Keep going till you get to another bridge back over the burn at the far south side of the park.

Continue back to the north end of the path along the walkway on the other side of the burn, back to the park gates.
