Start point Potter Heigham Bridge. A circular walk along the bank of the River Thurne to the inland edge of Hickling Broad, back down a farm road (note: this can be churned up after heavy rain) back to Potter Heigham Bridge. This walk can be extended at waypoint 1 to follow the flood bank and back through Potter Heigham Village.

Potter Heigham can be found between Wroxham & Great Yarmouth on the A149 or the A1062. Head into the village where you can park at two large car parks near Lathams store & Herbert Woods boat yard.
By river, from the River Bure head upstream to Potter Heigham Bridge, moorings are on the left before the bridge, or moor in Herbert Woods hire boat yard moorings.

From Potter Heigham Bridge take the river path between the restaurant and river, pass under the bypass bridge and keep walking past the backs of the river chalets. (At this point you can choose to extend your walk by instead keeping on the flood bank path which will take you to a path to Potter Heigham Village.)
