This walk takes you from Baggeridge car park up to the Toposcope, which affords views of the surrounding countryside, and then returns you via a different route to the car park. On a clear day, it is said that the Welsh Mountains can be seen from this point. The Toposcope is a flat disc with radii that will show you what is visible in a given direction, through 360°. It is useful to bring a pair of binoculars.

Baggeridge Park has been awarded the Green Flag Award for thirteen consecutive years, and has a picnic area available. There is a tea shop, a children's play area, a miniature railway, a sensory garden and disabled toilets. Other nearby attractions include Penn Common and Himley Hall & Park.

The walk is along a flat route at the beginning. However, there are a couple of quite steep flights of steps to and from the Toposcope. On the way back, there is a nature board detailing the local topography known as The Pit Mounds. It will take approximately 45 minutes.

Baggeridge Country Park is located just West of Gospel End, on the A463. Leave the roundabout on the A449, signposted Baggeridge Country Park. Alternatively, take the A463 from the nearby town of Sedgely. The entrance is clearly signposted. Drive down through the woods for about 300 yards, where you'll find a Pay & Display car park - 1hr is £1.60, full day is £2.60 (correct as of April 2014).

End point: 52.5321 lat, -2.148 long

From the lower car park, head ENE, keeping the miniature railway on your left. Walk down through the car park to the end, where you will find a map signpost with a white background. Follow the path to the rear of the sign, down to the left. Go underneath the bridge and follow the path round to the right in front of Bag Pool. Cross straight over where the paths join, looking for the steps and low wooden sign marked "Toposcope Trail". Climb the steps up the hill. At the end of the steps, the Toposcope is visible at the top of the hill. Follow the path across the grass, then take the steps up and to the right of the Toposcope. The Toposcope will be on your left.

The Toposcope itself is mounted on a red and blue brick circular dais. To view it, stand on the raised edge of the dais and look down at the circle. The lines radiating outwards point to various landmarks such as the Malvern or Clent hills. On a clear day, many points of interest can be seen from here. It is useful to have a pair of binoculars.

Walk back long the path to the steps. Continue straight on, keeping to the middle path. As you go over the brow of the hill, keep the trees to your right. The steps down will soon become visible. At the end of the steps, turn right and follow the footpath a short distance. At the end, turn right, noticing the bench in front of you and the nature board detailing The Pit Mounds to your right. Follow the footpath back towards Bag Pool, then retrace your steps back to the car park.
