British Tourism at an All Time High

Britain could be set for another bumper year of tourism after visitor numbers in February broke all previous records. According to the Office for National Statistics 2.25 million people visited the UK in February 2016, an 8% rise on the previous year. It follows a record 35.8 million visits to the UK in 2015, 6 million more than in 2010.

This is great news for the tourist economy and those businesses associated with it such as pubs, cafes, restaurants, museums and other tourist attractions. London has been named the most popular tourist destination in the world for the past two years running, with visitors spending £13bn in the city in 2015.

It is also great news for the walking industry. With overseas visitors looking to fill their days with all things quintessentially British, then walking is the ideal way to capture visitor interest. iFootpath is the perfect solution for enabling overseas visitors to access UK walking guides. With no need to have access to a printer, no need to pay overseas postage delivery fees and the ability to plan the walks before setting out from home, iFootpath is the perfect walking companion. We have already had great feedback from overseas visitors who have made use of our App, including visitors from Texas, California, Australia, Netherlands, Canada and Germany. So…if you are a pub or cafe looking for a way to grab the attention of overseas visitors, why not give our Walking Guide Creation Service a go?
