How to Create a Link to iFootpath

In this post you will find code to help you link to iFootpath whether it be to the home page, a list fo walks generated from a postcode or through content syndication. We are always very happy to help so please contact us if you require further help.

Linking to iFootpath using the first half of a postcode

This type of link is particularly useful if you want to link to walks nearby and attraction or accommodation. For example, if you have a cottage that you rent you may like to provide a link to walks that are in easy reach. The walk that are displayed are always the up to date and the list will build as more walks are added.

Linking to an up to date list of iFootpath walks by postcode requires only on URL in the form of  -

Just replace the xxxx at the end of the URL with the first half of your postcode. So if your postcode is RG12 1XX

Your URL should look like this

If the first half of your postcode is only three characters, e.g. SW1 then omit the last x so that your URL looks like this

Inserting a postcode search box on you website

A postcode search box is more useful if you have a blog or website that covers a range of geographical locations. you can insert the HTML code in a webpage or in a Wordpress text widget. Below is an example of the search box and you can of course tailor the words to suit your needs. Please note that the search will only work with the first half of the postcode whether that is 3 or 4 characters long.
