If you're looking for Brecon Beacons accommodation for a cheap family break, this cosy 19th Century farmhouse is set in a tranquil position with access to some of the best walking in Wales. The hostel is set in 15 acres of ancient National Park woodland and overlooks the River Tarell. Just step outside and there are breathtaking views towards Pen y Fan - the highest mountain peak in South Wales!

The location offers amazing countryside for an adventurous walking or cycling holiday. In summer, you can take a guided walk or mountain safety course at the nearby Brecon Beacons Visitor Centre. However, you may find it hard to leave this hostel's roaring fire, welcoming lounge of comfy arm chairs and tasty home-cooked meals...

The Hostel

YHA Brecon Beacons, formerly YHA Llwyn-y-Celyn, has 41 beds in a selection of private and dorm rooms, some of which are en-suite. The hostel features a comfortable lounge with plenty of sofas and arm chairs, great self-catering facilities and a handy drying room for muddy clothes.

Sorry, the hostel is not suitable for children under five, however the hostel is great for older children with lots of room for outdoor play.

Camping Pods

There are two of the Large Pod Plus camping pods available to guests at YHA Brecon Beacons. These pods sleep four people with one double futon and two single beds for a comfortable night's sleep. If you like camping, you'll love this! These wooden pods are completely protected from the elements and they're heated. Mattresses, futons and all bedding are included for your comfort. Each pod has its own individual decking area.

Wild Camping

Please note that camping is sold per person and not per pitch and so, during the booking process, you will need to select the number of people that you wish to camp.

Try wild camping at YHA Brecon Beacons in our woodland campsite. The area is well suited for smaller tents rather than bigger family sized units. Camping is in the woodland next to the hostel on mixed, fairly rough ground - perfect for those who would like a wild camping experience complete with camp fires but with the added bonus of access to hot showers, running water, hot meals and cold beer.

Start your day with our hot and cold buffet breakfast with continental and full English options. Breakfast is now available at 10% off - ONLY WHEN PRE-BOOKED (in-hostel price: £5.25). Simply add it to your basket at check out to save! Breakfast is served from 7:30am until 9am, so grab some while it's hot.

We can provide a packed lunch including a freshly prepared sandwich, a delicious cake, cereal bar, a bottle of mineral water, a packet of crisps and a piece of fresh fruit. Eat in the hostel or take your packed lunch with you to enjoy during your day of exploring.

Supper Club

YHA Brecon Beacons offer a Supper Club - a unique dining experience featuring a specially selected set menu which is served at 7pm. Sit around the table with your fellow travellers as you help yourselves to a delicious home-cooked meal and share the stories and memories that you have made throughout your day... We cater for dietry requirements and allergies, so just let us know.

Kids Eat Free

One free children's meal is available per adult main meal from the main menu when purchased at the same time. This offer is not available on breakfast.

Tasty home-cooked food and Brecon Brewery ales are served at this hostel, perfect for relaxing after a day up the mountain!

Self-Catering Facilities

Want to get cooking in our guest kitchen? You'll find three fridges, one freezer, a microwave, a cooker, a kettle and toaster, plus lots of pots, pans, cutlery and crockery.
