This hostel is perched on the cliff top. It has the most stunning views of the North Cornwall Coast. This is a traditional hostel with bunk beds in all the rooms. The dining/ lounge area has a self catering kitchen and you get a real sense of the age of this hostel from the beautiful exposed beams and old stone chimney. It's within easy walking distance of Tintagel for sightseeing and restaurants and shops.

YHA Tintagel has recently undergone a complete refurbishment throughout including a new kitchen, new furniture in the social areas, new beds and a redecoration in all of the bedrooms, new toilets and showers, a woodburner in the lounge making the hostel really cosy, new double glazing and a window seat to check out the amazing views and the hostel is now looking gorgeous.

Tintagel is one of Britain’s most popular places to visit. From the higgledy-piggledy roof of the medieval ‘Old Post Office’ to the drama of the panorama seen from St Materiana Parish Church, the legend of Tintagel Castle and Merlin’s Cave to the boom and blast of the Atlantic crashing against the coastline, this corner of Cornwall is pure magic.

The Hostel

There are 22 beds including the annex which is a small room for two people across the courtyard. Please note that there are no bathroom facilities in the annex, these are situated in the main hostel building. There is a staff room for two people which is where our Volunteer Managers stay.

The property is owned by the National Trust and on lease to YHA (England & Wales). Due to the hostel's exposed cliff top location all children must be closely supervised.

Hire the whole place

This hostel is occasionally made available for hire on an exclusive basis. This means that you can have the place to yourself and choose how many of your friends, family, club mates, etc., join you. We allocate availability for exclusive use in blocks, typically up to 90 days in the future. If you are looking for space to stay with us on a normal shared basis, and can’t see any availability three months or more into the future, then this hostel may be being held for Exclusive Hire. You can check availability for Exclusive Hire on our dedicated website, or use our live chat service for more information.

Self-Catering Facilities

YHA Tintagel is self-catering only, but there are pubs and shops in the village a mile away. Prepare your faves from home with the two gas ovens and hobs, one microwave, two kettles, two fridges and freezer. There's enough cutlery, crockery, pots and pans for 24 people too.
