A 6 mile circular walk from the Cotswold town of Faringdon. The walk passes the striking local landmark of Faringdon Folly, built by Lord Berners in 1935 and gifted to Faringdon in 1983, and later passes through the small village of Littleworth. The walk is along field paths, which can be muddy in wet weather, and small lanes. The terrain is mostly flat but with some gentle inclines. There are a number of stiles and kissing gates along the route. The final stage of the walk affords fine views to the north-west.

The walk starts at a path signposted for Folly Hill on Stanford Road, Faringdon, approximate postcode SN7 7AQ. Parking is available on the road.

Take the path on Stanford Road signposted to Folly Hill. The path leads uphill to Faringdon Folly. Keep to the right of the tower and continue down the slope to a stile. Keep straight ahead to a gap in the hedge leading on to the A420. Cross the road (with care as this is a very busy road) to a gate on the other side of the road and carry on along the path.

On reaching trees, bear right along the path across a field. This path can be very muddy in wet weather! A white gate (no longer in use) is passed on your right to reach the drive to Wadley Lodge. Cross the drive and continue along the path in the same direction to reach a white gate.

From the gate, keep left following the field edge. Pass through a gap at the corner and follow the bridleway across fields passing a dilapidated barn (Tagdown Barn) on your right. Continue along the bridleway passing an isolated house to join Barcote Lane at a hairpin bend.

Walk ahead to join the lane and follow the lane as it turns sharply left, ignoring the bridleway that goes straight on. Barcote Lane leads you to a junction with the A420. Cross the road with care and take the drive in front of you towards Barcote Park. Before reaching Barcote Manor, turn left at a footpath sign.

Bear right on the road and then, where the road turns sharp right by Hill House, go left through a gate marked Chapel House. Follow the track for a few yards to a stile and gate. Take the path across a large field with Faringdon Folly in sight in the distance. Follow the path across the field (muddy in wet weather) and then go through a kissing gate, keeping to the right of farm buildings.

Carry on over two stiles and continue along the path across two fields to pass to the right of an isolated house. Follow the path between a hedge and a fence with fine views to the north-west. Pass through a gate and then a kissing gate to join a farm track into Faringdon. Turn left onto Coach Lane and then go ahead onto Stanford Road to return to the start.
