A gentle 1.2 mile circular walk along the canal and into the beautiful village of Lower Heyford in Oxfordshire. The walk starts at the Heyford Wharf free car park, which is situated at the end of the railway car park. The walk is nice and flat all the way round, except for the steps of the rail footbridge (at the start and end of the walk). If negotiating the rail footbridge is a problem, then there is more limited free parking on the Wharf next to Kizzies Tea Room and Bistro, which allows you to avoid the bridge. There are no stiles on route, just a couple of kissing gates. The walk should take approximately 40 minutes.

Either from Bicester or Hopcrofts Holt (on Oxford to Banbury A4260), take the B4030 to The Heyfords. At Lower Heyford on the B4030 turn into the car park for the railway halt. Go through the small car park until you arrive at the Heyford Wharf car park. Parking here is free, but gates shut at 5.30pm. Approximate post code OX25 5PD. If you are coming by train, the walk begins alongside Heyford rail station.
