Spires and Steeples

The Spires and Steeples Arts and Heritage Trail is a 27 mile (43km) linear long-distance walk from Lincoln to Sleaford. The name refers to the spires of churches being the landmarks to which visitors make their way and to the rural sport of steeple chasing. This guide is published through a collaboration between iFootpath and North Kesteven District Council to inspire more people to enjoy the district’s landscapes, ancient woodland, historic buildings and charming villages.

iFootpath walks all have detailed Getting There information; a paragraph setting out how to get to the start of the walk, together with parking and public transport options where available. This section of our guides will also explain key information like seasonal opening times or parking fees to help you plan your walk. But there is an extra function for iFootpath App users - you can tap the Driving Directions button and use Google or Apple maps to get a detailed driving route from your current location to the walk's start point (or the recommended nearby parking).
