iFootpath: One Thousand Walking Guides and Still Growing

A moment we have been dreaming about has just arrived, so we wanted to take a minute to share and celebrate. Drum roll please… In May 2017, iFootpath published its 1,000th walking guide. Hooray! That’s 1,000 comprehensive UK walking guides, all richly described with full turn-by-turn directions, photos, snippets and fun facts of what you’ll see along the way, a GPS-powered map and full access notes so you can check if the walk is suitable for you. All this information, held within a handy App so you can carry the guides around with ease. We are so proud of this much-loved walking compendium and equally proud to reach this new milestone…

Thank you to the guest authors for your time in writing some of the guides, thank you to the clients that have commissioned us to create and publish walks on your behalf, thank you to the supporters for your kind donations that have helped fund the growth and thank you to the walkers that have told us you love our guides and have spurred us on to keep writing… We are very grateful to each and every one of you.

Don’t worry though, we won’t be resting on our laurels. We don’t consider this to be ‘job done’! We might just take an hour or two to skip around in celebration, but then we will be straight back to work, continuing to grow iFootpath.

Last month we asked for your requests about where in the country you would most like to see new guides. Thank you to everyone that took time to respond via email, via Twitter and via Facebook. It’s great to know our guides are in such hot demand!

Of course, with our finite funds and resources, we won’t be able to meet all the requests, but we are already underway in creating some guides that have been requested by customers. We have created four new walking guides near Scarborough in North Yorkshire and six new walking guides in Exmoor (covering both Devon and Somerset).

Thanks to our clients, partners and industrious guest authors there are also new walks this month in Essex, West Sussex, Lincolnshire, Northamptonshire, Warwickshire, Worcestershire, North Yorkshire, Buckinghamshire, Oxfordshire, West Midlands and Hampshire.

Watch this space for more walks that meet your individual requests…
