Get the Right Software, Create the Right Image…

In this series of blog posts we have taken a look at how microstock may be an attractive place for you to sell your pictures, how copyright and quality come before all else and how you can streamline your upload process to multiple microstock sites. In this instalment, I wanted to let you know a little about the software that I use to process my images for microstock sites and for use on iFootpath, with a hope that this will help you produce great images from your walks.

More Walking and Less IT - Submit Your Images to Multiple Microstock Sites

More Walking and Less IT - Submit Your Images to Multiple Microstock Sites

This is the third of a series of blog posts about microstock photography. In this post I will be giving you a few insights into the workflow I use to get my pictures successfully uploaded to microstock sites.

There are essentially three stages to the process and my objective is to balance ease and speed with results. After all, no one wants to spend hours preparing and submitting images to each microstock site and then adding keywords and a caption – better to spend your time out walking and capturing some great pictures along the way.

When it Comes to Microstock put Copyright and Quality Before Composition

When it Comes to Microstock put Copyright and Quality Before Composition

In my last blog post ‘Are your walking photos good enough to sell?’ I provided an introduction to microstock and how it is possible to earn a small income from pictures that you take whilst out walking. In this blog post I want to continue with giving some information about the type of pictures that microstock sites are looking for and, perhaps more importantly, the pictures they won’t accept.

Are Your Walking Photos Good Enough to Sell?

Are Your Walking Photos Good Enough to Sell?

The pictures you take while out walking deserve better than just being archived on your hard drive. Walking and photography make great bedfellows - especially if you can also earn a small income from your best pictures. If you are one of those people that likes to take a camera with you when you walk, perhaps snapping landscapes, wildlife, historic buildings or your faithful pooch as you trot happily along the footpaths, then read on….

How to Support us

Many of you have asked what else you can do to help and support us. Spreading the word is really helpful, telling your friends, family and colleagues all about iFootpath. You may also want to write a review of the App (to encourage more people to join in) or share your own walking stories in our Facebook group. We don’t want to raise the price of the App nor introduce an annual fee or ‘pay per walk’ model as we are committed to keeping the App as accessible to as many people as possible. Having said that, more funds would be useful to help us grow the collection of walking guides, so if you would like to donate a little extra (just £1 from everyone would go a very long way) that would be great.

You can pay by PayPal or Credit Card using the following buttons. Please contact us if you would like to create a direct bank transfer.

Inspiring Views in the Surrey Hills

Inspiring Views in the Surrey Hills

iFootpath is proud to be the walking guides partner for an exciting arts project in the Surrey Hills. During Summer 2016 a number of striking looking sculptures popped up along the Greensand Way. These distinct pieces of art are part of the Inspiring Views project delivered by Surrey Hills Arts. Funded through the Mittal Foundation, this project has worked with landowners to open up hidden views along the Greensand Way, improve access and commission artists to interpret the views through art, poetry and sound.
